Looking back on November 2024, Rudy enjoyed three day trips by train and visited three new stations. Along the way we caught 12 trains and used 4 buses.

A Monday afternoon visit to Shotts station in North Lanarkshire, West Central Scotland. We arrived at 13:50 on a train from Glasgow Central. We got our station selfie & some photos then went for a walk

Stane Gardens (Shotts)

Stane Gardens in Shotts is a fairly new community green space less than ten minutes walk from Shotts. Historically the site was home to the Shotts Iron Works—an iron and brass foundry dating from 1801. It has since undergone extensive clean-up

Gartcosh Nature Reserve

A visit to Greenfaulds had been in our plans for a while as part of a bigger day trip but our first visit ended up a quick scout around the first part of that Big Plan. A good wee walk down to the Luggie Water nonetheless!

The Luggie Water runs about 11 miles through North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire until it meets the River Kelvin at Kirkintilloch. We walked a short section of the river near Greenfaulds in Cumbernauld. We were pleasantly surprised to find
