Rudy's Railway Adventures

One dog, one railway, one heck of an adventure!

Dumbreck

Dumbreck

Station 143

Rudy visited Dumbreck on
Saturday, 17th September 2022
and caught the 15:18 train to Glasgow Central.

Dumbreck Station

318257 departing Dumbreck station towards Paisley Canal.

Dumbreck was built during the reopening of the Paisley Canal Line in 1990.

Dumbreck acts as a replacement for the original Bellahouston station which was open close by on this line from 1885 until 1954.

Rudy watches out for his train to arrive while another departs from the opposite platform.

The Glasgow-bound platform has a stretch of grass at the back of the platform that Rudy reckons should be included in every station design for tired dogs to rest on while waiting for their trains!

Dumbreck is an unstaffed station on the Paisley Canal Line. Pre-2019 it saw more than 170,000 passengers each year.

There are two platforms with separate ramp access and waiting shelters. There are no toilets.
