Helensburgh Central Station
Opened in 1858 as the western terminus of the Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway. Still a terminus but now trains from here run the full length of the North Clyde route through Glasgow & the Central Belt as far as Edinburgh.
Located in the town centre and close to the promenade & pier meant the station kept expanding and it was rebuilt in 1897. Despite having three platforms the line is single track until the next station at Craigendoran.
Helensburgh Central is 45 minutes from Glasgow Queen Street. It’s the western terminus for trains running the long North Clyde route from Edinburgh
The station is staffed throughout the day & evening with step free access available to both platforms. There is also a coffee & news kiosk on the concourse.
