Rudy's Railway Adventures

One dog, one railway, one heck of an adventure!

Just East

All The East Stations in Scotland

Over the space of four weekends in Summer 2022 Rudy visited all six “East” stations in Scotland. We explored a lost canal path, an old railway line, four city parks and even visited a castle on the Firth of Clyde!

All six “east” train stations in Scotland.

All six of these stations are in the Glasgow City Region although Dumbarton East and East Kilbride fall under neighbouring councils.

Rudy visited Easterhouse on Monday, 18th July 2022 arriving at 08:13 on a train from Glasgow Queen Street.

He went in search of the old canal at West Maryston Woodland.

Rudy visited Pollokshields East on Friday, 5th August 2022 arriving at 15:11 on a train from Glasgow Central.

He took a little walk around Govanhill Park.

Rudy visited Pollokshaws East on Friday, 5th August 2022 arriving at 15:56 on a train from Pollokshields West.

He visited Auldhouse Park (and Pets At Home!)

Rudy visited Dumbarton East on Sunday, 7th August 2022 arriving at 13:28 on a train from Anniesland.

He walked along the shore to see Dumbarton Castle.

Rudy visited East Kilbride on Tuesday, 9th August 2022 arriving at 09:24 on a train from Glasgow Central.

He ran around the Show Park and walked a bit of the old railway.

Rudy visited Hillington East on Sunday, 14th August 2022 arriving at 10:57 on a train from Glasgow Central.

He walked up the hill to look out at a view of Glasgow.

Including getting to & from his home stations Rudy spent a total of four & a half hours on twenty different trains for these adventures! He spent seven hours in new places sniffing smells, running around and sitting in the shade on a couple of very warm mornings.
