Singer station in Clydebank was opened in 1907 when the railway line was moved to accommodate the expanding Singer Sewing Factory. A few years later the factory was the largest in the world with 14,000 workers and it’s own six platform station. The factory closed in 1980 having manufactured more than 36 Million sewing machines.
