Kennishead
Station 95Sunday, 9th January 2022
Rudy caught the 15:29 train to Glasgow Central after visiting the nearby King George V Park.
Kennishead Station
Kennishead in the southside of Glasgow was opened in 1848 as “Crofthead”. For it’s first 10 years the name was changed several times to different spellings & variations until 1859 since when Kennishead has stuck.
Platform 1 trains all head to Glasgow Central but platform 2 sees departures for Kilmarnock, Dumfries and even Carlisle!
Rudy arrived twenty minutes early for his train home from Kennishead. Wet feet and a sleepy head meant he made it very clear that it was time to snooze and the timetable should be changed to suit him today 😅
Kennishead is 15 minutes by train from Glasgow Central on the Glasgow South Western Line. The station is unstaffed and both platforms are accessed by ramps from Boydstone Road with a footbridge between them.
