Luggie Water

A walk at Greenfaulds train station.

The Luggie Water runs about 11 miles through North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire until it meets the River Kelvin at Kirkintilloch. We walked a short section of the river near Greenfaulds in Cumbernauld. We were pleasantly surprised to find the paths well maintained compact gravel. Almost no muddy paws on a walk during a rainy November is rare indeed! Taking photos of the waterfall distracted us from a small herd of deer who were laying low until they decided we'd gotten too close. Rudy got quite the surprise not knowing what to do when he saw all the white tails bouncing away through the trees. If the person with the camera had noticed them sooner then we'd have a much better photo gallery to share form this walk 😅 This is a completely different watercourse than the Luggie Burn less than ten miles away in Coatbridge. There are more rivers & burns in Scotland than there are names.
