Fairlie Glen

A walk at Fairlie train station.

Starting at Fairlie, the walk along Fairlie Glen is sign-posted at the end of a very short lane. The maintained paths keep a small distance from the burn but there's plenty chances to go down to the water edge. Our walk was on a hot July day so even Rudy took the chance for a little paddle - admittedly encouraged by my choice of picnic spot being on the other side of the stream! There are feature waterfalls and Fairlie Caste to see but after a long dry spell we skipped the waterfalls and the castle was under scaffolding. Which led to us leaving the main path and wandering into a field with wonderful view across the Firth of Clyde to Arran. It's always a great day out when Rude Dog can stretch himself out on the grass to soak up the summer sun.
