Springburn Park & Winter Gardens
A walk at Springburn train station.
A kibble-picnic lunch and a wander around the wildlife ponds in the north of Glasgow - Springburn Park lies at the highest point of the city. The park was acquired and opened by the city corporation in 1892.

Winter Gardens

A class A listed building there is a long running campaign to restore the Winter Gardens at Springburn which have been mostly neglected by the council after being damaged by a storm in 1983.

Springburn Park isn't far from the train station but it's quite the uphill trek! Some would say the visit is worthwhile to see the grade A listed Winter Gardens even in it's derelict & ruinous state but Rudy was more interested in his little picnic lunch and run around the big open spaces!

There's a lot of water in Springburn Park, two wildlife ponds and an old boating pond. Rudy once fell into a pond in a park so he's a very brave dog posing for these photos. Just don't tell him that there are reservoirs hidden in the park with a million gallons of water!
