Old Station Park
A walk at Hyndland train station.
A short walk from Hyndland is Old Station Park. Built on the site of the original Hyndland station which was replaced by the current station in 1960. At first the site was still used by the railway but the 1970s saw it become an asphalt football pitch. By 2008 something better was wanted and now it's a lovely little park for the community.
The park has a lot of active children's play equipment but with being situated lower than the surrounding roads it's a peaceful space and very nice for a little dog walk visit. The muddy back lane we took to get there is optional and nicer days than dreich November afternoons are probably better suited for your own visit 😅
There is a Friends of Old Station Park group who have a website at https://friendsofoldstationpark.org/.
