Dawsholm Park

A walk between Kelvindale and Maryhill.

Glasgow's West End doesn't have an exact border but Dawsholm Park provides a useful western boundary if you ever want to define limits. The 33 hectares (81 acres) is mostly "natural" woodland with a criss-cross network of paths but there's also a couple of areas of wild flower meadow for picnics and an area of open ground (neglected sports pitches) that are now ideal dog walking territory.

Dawsholm Park was one of Rudy's first "big walk" places to visit, walking all the way there & back along the Kelvin Walkway when he was young and full of puppy-dog energy. Kelvindale is only five minutes away but the walk includes a hundred yards across a bridge with no segregated pedestrian pavement.
