Milton Nature Trail (Carluke)
A walk at Carluke train station.
Milton Tile and Brick Works operated from 1897 until 1978 after which the site never found use. Identified by South Lanarkshire Council as "Vacant and Derelict Land" it was recently declared a Local Nature Reserve and paths & boardwalks laid out for access.
It's a great wee place just ten minutes walk along Station Road from Carluke. The new paths are good but I decided to jump over a wee burn to explore what looked like less formal paths and got lost in the thick wild grasses that very definitely were not paths at all 🤦
Lucky for me Rudy enjoys exploring and only worried about the treats running out!
