Huntly
Station 90
Rudy arrived at 12:48 on a train from Aberdeen and returned on the 15:44 departure.
Huntly Station
Huntly is one of the few remaining original Great North of Scotland Railway stations on the Aberdeen to Inverness line.
Opened in 1854, Huntly Station is the last Aberdeenshire station in this direction. The original buildings with full canopy were at first stripped back and then replaced with a more modest modern ticket office at the beginning of the 21st Century.
When train services were being increased pre-2020 one mid/long term plan was to extend the Montrose-Inverurie local Aberdeenshire services as far as Huntly.
Rudy always prefers more frequent trains, less waiting after long walks before naptime on the train home!
Huntly is on the line between Aberdeen & Inverness. It’s about fifty minutes journey from Aberdeen and the booking office is open part-time in the mornings with toilet facilities available when staffed.
