Rudy's Railway Adventures

One dog, one railway, one heck of an adventure!

Crosshill

Crosshill

Station 65

Rudy arrived at 12:59 on a train from Glasgow Central.

Crosshill is on the Cathcart Circle line in Glasgow’s Southside. As with many others on theroute it’s a subsurface island platform with no step-free access. Opened by the Cathcart District Railway in 1886 as part of Glasgow’s first truly suburban railway. It takes less than ten minutes to reach Glasgow Central on trains from here with 360,000 passengers using the station in recent years.

The reduction of ScotRail services due to the coronavirus pandemic meant no circular services ran for much of 2020 & 2021, only trains heading further to & from Neilston or Newton.
