Carmyle Station

Carmyle is in the east end of Glasgow stuck between the M74 motorway to the north and the River Clyde to the south. The station was opened in 1866 and closed in 1964 as part of the Beeching Cuts. In 1993 it reopened as a two platform station – the Rutherglen & Coatbridge line surviving but the Glasgow Central Railway route abandoned.

320319 at Carmyle continuing on its journey to Whifflet.

Carmyle is 15 minutes by train from Glasgow Central low level platforms on trains towards Whifflet or Motherwell. Both platforms have ramp access up to Carmyle Avenue.
The station is unstaffed.
