Craigendoran Station

334033 departs Craigendoran towards Glasgow & Edinburgh.

Opened in 1882, Craigendoran is now a much reduced station located on the eastern edge of Helensburgh. At one time there were five platforms associated with the station but the two “upper” platforms for West Highland trains were closed in 1964, the pier platform shut in 1972 and the railway “simplified” in 1984 by reducing to single track in 1984.

The railway diverges into two routes just before reaching Craigendoran and access to the station’s remaining North Clyde platform is by underpass below the West Highland Line track or by footbridge from the shoreline paths and Station Road.

Craigendoran is less than 45 minutes from Glasgow Queen Street on trains towards Helensburgh Central.

The station is an unstaffed single platform with level access from the inland side.
