Cambuslang Station

Cambuslang was opened in 1849 just five miles from Glasgow Central. It’s located in the large “bite” that South Lanarkshire takes from Glasgow City Council’s southeast corner.

318268 and 385020 ScotRail trains at Cambuslang station.

The route here is part of the West Coast Mainline and although no cross-border trains stop here it benefited from electrification of the route in 1974.

The original station platform buildings were demolished and replaced by a new ticket office at street level on Main Street, the more leafy entrance at the south side of the station is on North Avenue

Cambuslang is around 10 minutes from Glasgow Central with differing train services from both high level and low level platforms.

The station is listed as being staffed throughout the day but there are no passenger toilets. There are separate ramps giving step free access down to both platforms.
