Rudy's Railway Adventures

One dog, one railway, one heck of an adventure!

Newton-on-Ayr: Stormy Weather

A walk along the shore at Newton-on-Ayr.

Rudy visited Newton-on-Ayr the day after Storm Corrie but it was still a very windy day!

Do you want to go to the beach Rudy?

Strong winds and high tide meant there wasn’t any snuffling around beachcombing the sand today but running along the shore road between waves crashing over the walls was a good exhilarating start to our walk!

It’s not far along the shore road before there’s a green space sandwiched between the promenade and the railway just perfect running around chasing the wind.

Newton-on-Ayr Promenade is stuck behind the railway with access from the south via industrial estate streets near the harbour and old railway goods yard. To the north is a golf course alongside which the coastal path runs – this section is best left as part of a longer walk and not a destination itself.
