A very sunny pre-heatwave day in July reduced Rudy’s plans to just one quick station visit in Cambuslang with a little nearby park walk before it got too hot.
Rudy still manged to fit in a couple of minutes silly running around chasing the new smells before a rest in the shade – and then a quick retreat back to his air-conditioned train home!
Rudy isn’t a fan of lukewarm water from even the best refillable plastic bottles so I’ve learned to carry stainless steel bottles of water for our walks.
This is his face knowing that he still gets a cool drink but it’s not him that has to carry all the extra weight!
Quarryfield Park is a small local park looked after by South Lanarkshire Council about 5 minutes walk from Cambuslang station. It has a couple of children’s play areas and large formal lawns surrounded by trees.
