Glasgow/Ayr to Stranraer

Rudy has visited seven of the sixteen stations we count on the Glasgow/Ayr to Stranraer route.

Rudy had been on trains here a dozen times before ever starting to keep track so deciding on an "official visit" date for Scotland's busiest station was tricky! We've chosen a day we went to show solidarity with striking rail workers in June 2022. We caught the bus there and walked home.

Barrhill

From Wikipedia : Barrhill serves the village of Barrhill, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Ayr to Stranraer section of the Glasgow South Western Line, 74 miles (119 kilometres) south of Glasgow Central. A passing loop 19 chains (380 metres) long is located here on what is otherwise a single track route. As well as Barrhill, It also serves Newton Stewart located around 20 miles away.
