Sibster is a new woodland right next to Georgemas Junction train station with 350,000 trees recently planted on the old Sibster Farm by Forestry and Land Scotland.
Rudy really enjoyed this walk. There are two walking trail loops to explore, a short ¾ mile (1.3km) and a longer 2 mile (3.2km). The longer of the two trails is called the “Bee Trail” as it includes a wildflower meadow protected as a conservation area for bumblebees!
There’s a small picnic area next to a lovely little waterfall and as the trees are still newly planted there’s more open views than in the more established woodland this will grow into.
Our favourite feature at Sibster was a separate “dog loop” – a small fenced area for dogs to run around and make use of the dog poo bin before venturing onto the main paths. A great idea!
Rudy doesn’t know why, but every time he goes on a walk somewhere new there’s always a railway bridge! 😅
Sibster Walk has a carpark as well as easy access from the train station at Georgemas Junction. The paths are all accessible and there’s a few picnic benches but no toilet facilities available

Like this! Sibster is a favourite Happy Place for me and my dogs too. Heidi and Jojo love to meet and greet their human and four legged friends there. The waterfall is a great place for a doggie paddle.
