Rudy's Railway Adventures

One dog, one railway, one heck of an adventure!

Gyle Park

Right outside the gate at the north end of platform 1 at South Gyle station is Gyle Park. Rudy took an evening walk around the park in late November 2022.

Rudy at Gyle Park

Gyle Park has been part of Edinburgh since 1953. The park has formal and casual sports pitches and open lawn areas. Unfortunately a major chunk is cut out of it by a large sports centre & gym – and its equally large car park.

Rudy’s trademark stare.

We stuck to walking along the southern edge of the park, along the railway boundary, and Rudy was able to investigate all the bunny rabbit smells before having a bit of a run around in an open area to the west of the sports centre.

Late November in Edinburgh means the sun had set before our 4pm visit and an evening mist was starting to develop. A little spooky for a dog walk but we liked the photographs!

Time to head for the train home.
