Newton-le-willows Railway Station

Rudy visited Newton-le-willows on the 2nd of September 2019 arriving at 13:30 on a train from Llandudno.

Newton-le-Willows is on the route of the original Liverpool and Manchester Railway. Often called the world's first inter-city railway the line here was opened in 1830. The railway here pioneered many ideas that made passenger trains a success and now nearly two hundred years later Merseyrail have substantially redeveloped the station as a modern interchange. Rudy had to change trains here so took a short walk to the nearby Willow Park & Newton Lake.

Although Rudy has been on trains at Newton-le-willows we haven't been on a proper walk here so far. Hopefully soon though.
