The first time we visited the Larkhall Branch was a frosty winter's day in mid-November - this time a hot summer's day in April. Rudy visited Merryton on the 1st of April 2025 arriving at 12:55 on a train from Anniesland.

Merryton is on the Larkhall Branch in South Lanarkshire opened in 2005 as a new station where no station had been before. The railway though had been here since the mid- late 1800s because South Lanarkshire (as we all know now?) was littered with coal fields!
