Eighteen hundred and twelve. Thats when Kilmarnock station first opened - more than 200 years before Rudy was even born!! The Kilmarnock and Troon Railway was one of the first in Scotland, starting out as horse drawn traction before locomotives were used. This version of the station is a mere youngster dating from the 1870s. On the Glasgow South Western route trains from here currently run through from Glasgow to Dumfries and Carlisle or towards the Ayrshire Coast.
