The exit gate on platform 1 at Invergowrie station leads immediately onto a woodland path - ten seconds off the train and its a safe off-lead walk for Rudy. Except for the little matter of posing for photos first, poor dog! Rudy has been on four trains to & from Invergowrie! The first was on the 8th of September 2021 and most recently on the 5th of May 2025.
Invergowrie was opened in 1848 by the Dundee and Perth Railway. Suggested for closure in the 1960s and then again in 1985 Rudy is glad it survived as it’s a wonderful little station with an exit gate right out onto a wooded path!

Invergowrie railway station is a railway station which serves the village of Invergowrie, west of the city of Dundee, Scotland on the north bank of the Firth of Tay. It is the only intermediate station between Dundee and Perth, on the Glasgow to Dundee line, approximately 4 miles (6.4 kilometres) from Dundee station – and only around 500 yards (460 metres) from the city's western boundary – and just over 17 miles (27 kilometres) from Perth. ScotRail, who manage the station, provide all the services.
