Rudy visited Garve on the 27th of April 2023 arriving at 13:46 on a train from Achnasheen.

Garve is the first station on the Kyle of Lochalsh line after the junction at Dingwall. Opened in 1870 it was hoped to be a junction itself with a railway from here to Ullapool but that was never built.

Garve Black Water

Our walk from Garve station was along a little stretch or the Black Water river. A steady drizzle meant it was a rare outing for Rudy in a jumper - it's a shame this one doesn't fit properly 😅

Garve railway station is a railway station on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, serving the village of Garve in the north of Scotland. Garve is located at the eastern edge of Loch Garve, measured 11 miles 65 chains (19.0 km) from Dingwall, and is the first stop on the line before Lochluichart. ScotRail, who manage the station, operate all services.
