Cambuslang Railway Station

✓ Station Visit 126

Rudy visited Cambuslang on the 15th of July 2022 arriving at 13:32 on a train from Glasgow Central Low Level.

Cambuslang was opened in 1849 just five miles from Glasgow Central. It’s located in the large “bite” that South Lanarkshire takes from Glasgow City Council’s southeast corner. The route here is part of the West Coast Mainline and although no cross-border trains stop here it benefited from electrification of the route in 1974. The original station platform buildings were demolished and replaced by a new ticket office at street level on Main Street, the more leafy entrance at the south side of the station is on North Avenue.
