The walk along Brunstane Burn starts just across the road from Brunstane. Its a solid path which ducks under the East Coast Mainline at one point and ends at the Joppa Shore on the southern edge of Portobello.

The station, situated 3 miles 72 chains (6 km) south-east of Edinburgh Waverley, serves the suburbs of Brunstane and Portobello in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by ScotRail.
