Arrived at 12:21 on a train from Haymarket.
Carstairs station opened in 1848 and is just north of a major junction on the West Coast Mainline. It’s location means many more fast trains go past here than actually stop – a nearby tourist sign even lists “train spotting” as one of the local highlights!
